OAL Adventure Training - April 12 to 14
Interested in taking youth on more adventurous camps and activities? Consider taking your OAL 3 training. Lougheed & West Coast Areas are hosting in-person OAL 3–Adventure Camp training at Camp Kanaka from April 12 to 14, 2024. This training is open to all BC Guiders and is designed to elevate your camping skills from established campsites to more daring environments. This is an excellent opportunity for in-depth wilderness camp training. Participants may register for all 7 training modules or only the modules they are missing. Ready for the challenge? Taste of Adventure is an adventure event for Pathfinders, TREX, and Rangers from throughout the province. Participants will have the opportunity to experience overnight trips and adventurous activities. Participants will have the opportunity to choose an overnight out-trip from options including canoeing, horseback riding, backpacking, and bike packing. At camp, campers will attend a pre-activity orientation to prepare for their out-trip. They will learn the appropriate safety procedures for their chosen adventure and gain valuable adventure experience outside in the Whistler/Squamish area. All out-trips will be facilitated by Guiders experienced in adventure activities. In addition to adventure out-trips, participants will have the opportunity to go on a variety of day trips including hiking, climbing, biking, and more.
